Scope in detail

Frequently asked questions

When is custom software worthwhile compared to standard software?

When your process is the reason for your success and standard software would bend it out of shape, or when a process currently runs across several spreadsheets and word of mouth. Standard software is almost always cheaper to start with and to run — so we first check whether configuring and connecting existing systems is enough.

How soon will I see something that works?

The aim is a first usable version after a few weeks, not at the end of the whole project. It lets you decide early on whether the direction is right. That is the most effective protection against a system that works technically in the end but misses everyday work.

What happens if we continue with someone else later?

The source code belongs to you, and the handover includes documentation and access. We deliberately use widespread, well-documented technology rather than a framework of our own, so that other developers can work with it too. A system that only its builder can maintain is a risk, not an advantage.

Do you also take over ongoing operation?

Yes, if you wish — including hosting, updates and monitoring. A complete handover to your IT is also possible. Both are decided before the project starts, because it affects how the application is built and delivered.
